Family Photographer Serving Northern Virginia and Beyond

Laughter, tickles, snuggles, playing, running, jumping. And lots and lots of silliness. All par for the course for a family photography session. I feel like I need a disclaimer for families new to working with me because the silly comes out the most for sessions involving kids, and I can play the clown if I sense a smile on the other side of it! My last family session I was balancing a stuffed lion on my head and squeezing a green squeaky chicken. But you know what? I got the shots mom, dad, and grandma and grandpa wanted! Success.

Family photography requires an extra dose of patience and as a mom and former preschool teacher I can say with confidence that I'm not intimidated by little ones. Let's chat about how we can cater your session specifically to your family's needs!

standard Outdoor family sessions

Outdoor sessions are fun for those on the go. They showcase Virginia's natural beauty and often involve nature, movement, and adventuring together. They involve a mix of posed and candid portraits and are loads of fun for kids!

Winchester and the surrounding area boasts so many beautiful outdoor locations to choose from! I have a whole list of preferred locations. Just ask!

Standard in-home sessions

Standard, in-home lifestyle sessions are a beautiful way to capture the love and connection your family shares within the comfort of your own home. These sessions are intimate and casual, focusing on the sweet details and daily memories. These are especially perfect for the tender newborn stage!

Stress-free and casual, these can be photographed in any home. I guide you through natural poses and prompts to help you feel confident and at ease so you can focus on the beautiful memories.

Northern Virginia is my Home

I was born (at home!) in Manassas, Virginia and I've lived the majority of my life in Northern Virginia. The Shenandoah Valley and it's river, the Blue Ridge mountains, the beautiful small towns nestled between the bustling cities, just a stone's throw away from our nation's capital and home to so much of our nation's history... it will forever have my heart and fill me with awe at the thought.

As family photographer in Northern Virginia I have the privilege of photographing history in the making.

Did you know that no less than four of our nation's first five presidents were Virginia natives? Or that more US presidents were born in Virginia than any other state? They waded in these rivers, hiked these mountains, and made world history in our backyard.

Who will today's children of Virginia grow up to be?
