Sibling Profiles

You HAVE to see these! You can skip the rambling words if you want, but you can't miss the photos.

Months ago my sister-in-law commented how much she loved the side profile heirloom portrait I did of my boys, so I offered to photograph her kids in the same style when I saw them next. My husband's family lives in Western NY, so it isn't as simple as it sounds and would take some time.

[Side note: When I say my studio is portable I don't exaggerate. It's 100% cordless and I can set it up in an average sized living room.]

Our first trip had to be rescheduled due to sickness so we finally had the chance to make these happen last week. They were worth the wait! We decided to photograph some forward facing shots at the same time, and they are some of my favorite studio portraits to date.

These sweet kiddos hold a very special place in my heart as my own nieces and nephews, so I know I'm biased. However I really love these portraits and they nailed it! Composites always require a bit of a blind faith since you can't see the final outcome at the onset. But we're obsessed with the end result! It's so fun to see the differences and similarities in siblings side by side like this.

I way underestimated how much I'd love the forward facing shots we decided to add last minute! The styling was simple. But I think that's what I love so much about these. It's just them! Their natural expressions, features and individual personalities take the stage in these classic, timeless portraits.

Wait wait wait. I need you to see this bigger. You simply can't appreciate the beautiful crisp details otherwise!

I love photography. This is news to no one at this point. But heirloom portraits and fine art photography specifically just make my heart explode like nothing else! Beyond the surface, it's the art and captured expression of genuine love and emotion that I really adore. Photography is simply the medium of choice for me. Being a bit of a realist (and a painfully detail-oriented person), photography lends itself well as an artistic expression. But to me portraits are nothing if not cherished, so I am obsessed with seeing actual physical, gorgeous quality prints of images like these!

I went deeper than I meant to there, but here we are. ;)

Don't forget black and white!

Every session I photograph is delivered in both color and black and white, and theirs was no exception. I often prefer these types of images in black and white and I want my clients to have the option to choose either one, so it's a must!

I wish you could all see these extra large on my screen!

But alas, you cannot. And all screens are different (to get a visual of this just compare screens at a tech store, or check out the TV section at Walmart!), and mine is adjusted specifically to my printer so that I know what is printed will be what I see on my screen when I edit! It's the only way I sleep at night knowing I can count on consistency.

Thanks to these guys for being so patient and cooperative! I hope you love your photos as much as I do!

About Me

Hi! Victoria here.

I began pursuing photography in my teens and officially opened a licensed business in my early 20's. When I got married and had two babies of my own, it became increasingly important to me that I captured them in ways that truly reflected their personalities and that wouldn't quickly go out of style. This put me on a fast track toward the timeless, classic portraits with true-to-color editing that I'm known for today.
